Threads of History: Exploring Culture and Faith includes both the 2025 Brevard Interfaith Speaker Series and the Explorations on Jewish History and Culture series. These learning opportunities are scheduled approximately every other month throughout the year, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoons at various locations around Brevard:

  • February 9: “Evidence of Things Not Seen: James Baldwin and the Legacies of Race in America” with speaker Morrey Davis at St. Philip’s

  • April 27:Jews on Broadway: Shaping the Spotlight with Dr. Laura Becker” at Parker Concert Hall

  • June 8: “Modern Muslim Communities” with speaker Julianne Hammer (UNC Chapel Hill) at First United Methodist Church

  • August 17: “Jewish and Islamic Relations in Medieval Middle East with Dr. Craig Perry” - location TBD

  • October 5: “Hymn Writing in the Modern Era” with speaker Mel Bringle (Brevard College) at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd

  • December 7: “Biblical Creation Stories with Prof. Joseph Lam” - location TBD

Each session is free and open to the public.
