Where strangers are welcomed as friends.
Is this your first time here? Welcome and God bless you!
The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is a congregation of members with big hearts and compassion who graciously bear each other’s burdens and share each other’s joys. We are a welcoming church where newcomers are quickly embraced – truly “where strangers are welcomed as friends.”
Here is a little information about what you can expect when you visit us.
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible and to know that we are delighted you are here! You will be welcomed in our narthex, and ushers stationed at the sanctuary entrance will help you find our nursery, large print bulletins, children’s activity bags, restrooms, the Fellowship Hall or anything else you might need.
A Warm Greeting
Thought-Provoking Worship
LCGS offers two worship services on most Sundays, at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. We appreciate excellent preaching and fine music as integral elements of our worship. The early service is more intimate and contemplative, while the later service is larger and more traditional in tone. Our choir is exceptional (even if we do say so ourselves!) and the music included in both worship services complements the readings and sermon topic for the day.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered at every service; individual bread and wine, as well as grape juice and gluten free wafers, are available at each service. Pastor Ken will come to your seat to serve Communion if you let the usher know on your way into the sanctuary. Those who do not wish to receive Holy Communion may come forward for a blessing by the Pastor.
Kids Are Welcome!
Children of all ages are enthusiastically welcome at all worship services! Childcare is available in the Education Wing during the 10:30 service. Children’s worship bags are also available in the narthex for use during worship services.
Fellowship
Join us in the Fellowship Hall after each service on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month for “Coffee & Conversation” - coffee, tea, light snacks and conversation are on the menu. This is a great opportunity to meet Pastor Ken, connect with congregation members and meet new friends.
Meet the Pastor
Pastor Ken is available after each worship service, personally greeting people as they leave the sanctuary. You may also make an appointment to speak with him by contacting the church office during office hours.
Dress Code
In short, there isn’t one. Some people wear suits and ties while others prefer jeans. Make yourself comfortable.
Access
The parking lot is accessed from Fisher Road and the church entrance faces the main parking lot. Our building is wheelchair accessible, designated handicap and visitor parking is available, and someone can also drop you off near the church entrance and then park.
